Tyranny of Silence x A.I.D

Tyranny of Silence is a group of transdisciplinary artists from diverse countries and backgrounds, brought together at the Dutch Art Institute. They span various cities across and beyond Europe, forming a network that is both rooted and fluid. They cultivate a practice of collective listening and action, exploring the potentiality of sound, noise, poetry, and solidarity as tools against various forms of acoustical, existential, and epistemological violence—including silence.

Tyranny of Silence is
Ian Nolan, Kivanç Sert, Claudia Medeiros, Saverio Cantoni and Chloë Janssens. They have performed in different constellations from 2022-2024 in Nida Art Colony – Lithuania, PAF – France, Vleeshal – the Netherlands and Centrale Fies – Italy.

Art is Dead (A.I.D)
is an Istanbul-originated formation came together in 2014 with the purpose of breaking ties with musical criteria defined so far. Art is Dead is a fluid heading referring to the point music has come today with new technologies, methods, reasonings and experimental attitudes; for it involves a wide-ranging scale from acoustic improvisation performances to pre-composed electroacoustic pieces; from severe-harsh noise styles to breakcore/terrorcore sets, and site-specific interactive/multidisciplinary spatializations & installations and alike.
